Intellectual Property Theft & Plagiarism
Lunar Astro generates the vast majority of its estimated ₹14.9 Crore revenue through the sale of premium educational courses. These courses, such as the "Predictive Astrology Course," are marketed as containing highly guarded, "decoded" secrets of Vedic astrology, justifying price tags that can exceed ₹2 Lakhs.
The "Original Research" Claim
Deepanshu Giri claims that the techniques taught in these courses are the result of his own groundbreaking research and his "7-generation lineage." However, independent astrological scholars and former students have raised severe allegations of intellectual property theft.
Repackaging Traditional Knowledge
The core of the Lunar Astro educational scam relies on information asymmetry. The organization takes traditional, widely available astrological concepts (or techniques developed by competing schools), repackages them with complex, pseudo-scientific jargon (leveraging the "Robotics Engineer" myth), and sells them at an exorbitant markup.
Consumers are led to believe they are purchasing exclusive, proprietary secrets that cannot be found anywhere else. In reality, much of the curriculum is available in traditional texts or through far more affordable, legitimate astrological institutions.
The Threat to Students
Students who realize they have paid ₹2 Lakhs for repackaged information and attempt to speak out are immediately targeted by Lunar Astro's digital troll farm. They are banned from the community forums, denied refunds, and subjected to cyberbullying to ensure the plagiarism allegations never reach the mainstream public.
