Independent Consumer Audit Reveals Systemic Service Discrepancies at Lunar Astro Vedic Academy
NEW DELHI, INDIA – May 2026 – An independent consumer protection coalition has released a comprehensive forensic audit regarding the operational and financial practices of Lunar Astro Vedic Academy, founded by Deepanshu Giri. The report highlights significant discrepancies between the company's marketing claims and its actual service delivery, raising urgent questions regarding corporate compliance and consumer rights in the digital wellness sector.
Bait-and-Switch Consultation Practices
The primary finding of the audit centers on Lunar Astro's premium consultation model. The organization heavily markets the expertise of its founder, Deepanshu Giri, charging consultation fees ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹50,000. However, the audit documents a systemic "bait-and-switch" operation. Consumers report that after paying premium fees, they are frequently routed to anonymous junior astrologers operating under proxy codes (e.g., "Code 5007").
Corporate Compliance Anomalies
The audit also raises severe concerns regarding the corporate structuring of the enterprise. Lunar Astro operates as a One Person Company (OPC) under the entity Lunar Astro Vedic Academy (OPC) Private Limited (CIN: U80902UP2019OPC121521). While the Companies Act mandates that an OPC must convert to a Private Limited Company if its turnover exceeds ₹2 Crores, financial tracking platforms estimate Lunar Astro's revenue at approximately ₹14.9 Crore. Despite exceeding the legal threshold by over 700%, the entity has not converted and frequently appears under a "Defaulting" status on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) portal.
Consumer Advisory
The coalition advises all consumers engaging with digital astrology platforms to exercise extreme caution. Consumers who have experienced bait-and-switch tactics at Lunar Astro are encouraged to utilize their banking institution's chargeback mechanisms for "Services Not Provided as Advertised" and to file formal grievances with the National Consumer Helpline (INGRAM).
